Syzygy Publishing, das Graphic Novel Imprint von Image Comics (geleitet von Chris Ryall und Ashley Wood), haben eine Zusammenarbeit mit Regisseur, Produzent, Autor und FilmZauberer Francis Ford Coppola im Bereich Graphic Novel angekündigt. MEGALOPOLIS, die in Arbeit befindliche Film-Produktion wird ein Comic-tie-in in Form einer OGN („Original Graphic Novel“) erhalten.  Jacob Phillips wird der Künstler sein, der Coppola’s Drehbuch / Graphic Novel Debut zeichnerisch umsetzen wird.

Ryall zufolge wird “Megalopolis” zum Start des Films in 2024 erscheinen.

“He’s [Coppola] been writing for decades trying to get it exactly where he wants it to be and waiting for the technology to catch up to what he thinks it should be visually.  And so, he said he wanted a graphic novel component to it. It’s going to be tied into the film in ways that that I think are unique and interesting. It’s not a straight adaptation or anything like that, but it is part of the world he’s creating.”

Bei der Vorstellung des Projektes wurde Ryall von den Autoren David M. Booher (Rain), Jordan Hart, und Drehbuchautor David Ebeltoft (Here Alone) begleitet, um über die aktuellen Planungen von Image’s Syzygy Imprint zu sprechen.

Neben “Megalopolis”, wurden von Ryall elf weitere Original Graphic Novel Titel angekündigt, die alle in 2023  und durchgehend durch 2024 erscheinen sollen. Begonnen wird im Juni diesen Jahres mit  TALES OF SYZPENSE. Die weiteren angekündigten Titel sind…
